Privacy Policy 

 

The Quantium Group Pty Limited (ACN 102 444 253) and each of its related body corporates (together, Quantium) is committed to managing any personal and sensitive information it collects from an individual in compliance with the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth.) (Privacy Act).

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe and make transparent:

(a)    how personal information is collected and held by Quantium;
(b)    the kinds of information that Quantium collects and holds;
(c)    the purpose for which Quantium collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information;
(d)    how Quantium manages personal information;
(e)    how Quantium keeps personal information secure;
(f)     information about any cross-border disclosure of personal information; and
(g)    complaints and handling procedures.

This Privacy Policy has been drafted having regard to Quantium’s obligations under the Privacy Act.
 

1. Market Blueprint® and Personal Information

For clarity, Quantium does not collect any personal information (or sensitive information) in relation to its Market Blueprint® service. All Market Blueprint® data is de-identified prior to receipt from data providers. The Market Blueprint® service does not contain or provide any personal information (or sensitive information) about an individual. The Market Blueprint® service does not re-identify the data to allow the identification of an individual.

2. Types of Information collected and received by Quantium

The types of personal and sensitive information collected and received by Quantium will depend on the circumstances of collection.

For example:

(a)    where Quantium is collecting information for employment and administration purposes, the information Quantium collects may include an individual’s
         name, birthday, address, contact details and tax file number. When an individual applies for a job with Quantium, Quantium may additionally
         collect sensitive information, such as an individual’s criminal record;
(b)    where Quantium is collecting information for the purposes of informing individuals of its products and services, the information Quantium collects may
         include job titles and contact details; and
(c)    where Quantium is receiving information for the purposes of providing professional services to its clients, the information Quantium receives will depend
        on the information provided by the client and the purpose for which it is needed. Such information will only be received when necessary for the
        delivery of services.

3. Use of Information by Quantium

Quantium only uses personal information for the purpose for which it was given to Quantium. Quantium will only use personal information if it is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, one or more of Quantium’s functions and activities. Such use primarily includes:

(a)    for recruitment, employment, business operations and administration;
(b)    to maintain contact with Quantium’s clients, to inform Quantium’s clients (and others) of Quantium’s products and services, seminars and other events,
        and, to undertake business to business direct marketing activities; and
(c)    to provide, collect, maintain, improve or develop a Quantium service which includes without limitation undertaking planning, research and statistical
        analysis on behalf of its clients.

Where Quantium uses personal information for the purposes of business to business direct marketing, Quantium generally relies on the exception in the Privacy Act to do so. Quantium will always:

(a)    allow an individual to opt out of receiving any further direct marketing from Quantium; and
(b)    in each written communication by Quantium, set out its business address and telephone number and, if the communication with that individual is made
         by fax, telex or other electronic means, a number or address at which Quantium can be directly contacted electronically.

Quantium will not use any personal information of an individual for a secondary purpose unless:

(a)    that individual has consented to the use of that personal information for the secondary purpose; or
(b)    the secondary use is required or permitted by or under law.

4. Disclosure of Information by Quantium

Quantium will not disclose personal information of an individual to a third party unless:

(a)    that individual has consented to the disclosure of that information; or
(b)    the disclosure of required or permitted by law.

5. How Quantium collects Information

Any personal or sensitive information collected by Quantium will be collected by lawful and fair means.

Quantium generally collect personal and sensitive information directly from individuals. This information is generally provided by an individual by filling in forms, face to face meetings, email messages and telephone conversations.

Where Quantium collects personal or sensitive information directly from an individual, before collecting such information, Quantium will notify that individual of:
 
(a)     the identity and contact details of the Quantium entity collecting the information;
(b)     the circumstances and the purpose of that collection;
(c)     the main consequence (if any) if all or some of the information is not collected by Quantium; and
(d)    any third parties that Quantium may disclose that information too (if any).

If it is necessary for its business activities, Quantium may collect personal information about an individual from third parties.

6. Quality of Information

Quantium takes steps to ensure that the personal or sensitive information it collects, uses and discloses is accurate, up to date and complete. These steps include maintaining and updating any personal information or sensitive information when Quantium is advised by an individual that their information has changed, and at other times, as necessary.   

7. Security of Information

Quantium places a high degree of importance on digital security. Quantium takes reasonable steps to protect any personal and sensitive information that it holds from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

These steps include:

(a)    storage of such information in a secure environment;
(b)    restricted access to such information to only those whom such access is reasonable and necessary, including password protection and
         restricted physical access; and
(c)    the use of up to date hardware and software security measures.

8. Retention of Information

Personal and sensitive information will only be retained by Quantium for:

(a)    as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected; and
(b)    as required by or under Australian law, or a court/tribunal order.

When no longer required, all such information will be destroyed in a secure manner.

9. Access to Information

An individual may request access to their personal or sensitive information held by Quantium. Subject to any permitted exception under the Privacy Act, Quantium shall give that individual access to that information. If an individual notifies Quantium that the information Quantium holds about them is not accurate, Quantium will take reasonable steps to correct that information.

10. Unsolicited Information received by Quantium

Where Quantium receives any personal or sensitive information which it did not request, Quantium shall, as soon as practical, and provided that it is lawful and reasonable to do so, destroy that information or ensure that the information is de-identified.

11. Cookies Policy

Quantium uses cookies and other technology to track access to, and use of, the Quantium website. The information gathered is not personally identifiable, but it assists Quantium in knowing the number of visitors to the website and the pages visited.

12. An individual’s right to Anonymity and Pseudonymity

Nothing in the Privacy Policy restricts an individual’s option to not identify themselves or use a pseudonym when dealing with Quantium, provided that this right does not apply in relation to matters where:

(a)    Quantium is required or authorised by or under law, or court/tribunal order, to deal with an individual who has identified itself; or
(b)    it is impractical for Quantium to deal with an individual who has not identified themselves or who has used a pseudonym.

13. Cross Border Disclosure of Information

Quantium does not transfer personal or sensitive information to any overseas entities.
